The vine growing is present for several centuries in this region. Today, 87 000 hectares of vineyards situated on the heights meet to create only DO Ribera del Guadiana at the end of the XXth century. His dry and continental climate and the variety of these lands enrich his wines. The dominant vines are Pardina, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Macabeo, Cayetana Blanca, Borba and Alarije.
